Past Behaviour; there is no such thing as design, just re-design; as designers of the 21st century we are merely trying to set ourselves apart and to readapt concepts from the Greats. Past Behaviour has a personal connection to my current collection “Clovers & Blush.” A year ago I completed my first big collection that showed at Ottawa Fashion Week and much like a child I had no inhibitions or expectations while creating that collection. It’s hard as designer to maintain that mind set, but with “Clovers & Blush” I pushed my own boundaries while clinging to the ideal of being childlike in mind set, taking only into consideration my inspiration and my true goal to design and create with no inhibitions.
Copious is a Toronto based women’s wear fashion line, established in 2011. Country girl come fashion designer, Carissa McCaig, creates these unique brands’ designs. Her inspiration has always been rooted in her country upbringing: inspired by the colours of the seasons, how the wind moves the fabric of a dress… she is always drawn back home to shoot her collection where she is most inspired. Currently her line can be found at Flock and Workshop Boutiques in Ottawa and Coal Miner’s Daughter in Toronto. Spring 14’ collection was truly a labour of love in which Carissa pushed her own boundaries to create the collection “Clovers & Blush.”
