2013 Past Behaviour

The 2013 competition theme was Past Behaviours. Designers were encouraged to explore their interpretation on the seemingly never-ending fashion cycle through tools of reinvention, restoration and redefining the future from fashion’s past. Through colour, silhouette, materiality and styling, we challenged designers to take from the past and apply to the present. Designers needed to creatively consider time sensitive details and how to rework them into the contemporary fashion scene.

Up to ten (10) Canadian designers were selected from all applications to bring their collections to life, based on their interpretations of the ‘Past Behaviours’ theme, and compete for two titles: Most Promising Designer (decided by an industry judging panel) and People’s Choice (voted by the public).
